Fabio Arturo López Alfaro

Fabio Alfaro is a climate action researcher and advocate for the ocean and youth from Mexico.
He studied Space Science at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). He was granted a scholarship to conduct climate modelling research at UNAM Research Program on Climate Change, with Dr. Carlos Gay García, one of the pioneers of climate change research in Mexico.
Fabio is passionate of youth activism. Since 2019 he has served as the Outreach Coordinator of UNAM Climate Change University Network (Red Universitaria de Cambio Climático (REDUCC)), which is a multidisciplinary space where students engage in dialogue, create, and innovate around climate change.
Fabio is a scientific diver and is interested in coral reef adaptation to climate change, deep-sea ecosystems, and coastal marine biological communities.
