Align with G77/China and Botswana on behalf of LLDCs.

Landlocked countries have a full right to access marine resources and use them as stipulated by UNCLOS – which is clear on rights and obligations of landlocked states.  Marine resources have significant potential in guaranteeing development of landlocked states. 

This instrument important for ensuring equitable access.Access to genetic resources and fair and equitable sharing of the benefits arising from use of resources. Also must harness traditional and indigenous knowledge when it comes to the management of marine resources.  

Hope we can construct appropriate framework without renegotiationg what we have already agreed on in other forums. Trust that flexibility of participants will prevail. 

Bolivia had access to the sea but now landlocked. 

Result is to ensure that oceans are cared for genuine part of common heritage of humankind.
