At the Virtual Islands Summit 2021, Barbados Minister of Maritime and the Blue Economy, Kirk Humphrey, delivered an ambitious call to successfully conclude high seas treaty negotiations at the fourth negotiating session scheduled for March 2022, and explained why the treaty is so important to the Caribbean. “We in the Caribbean live and breathe the ocean everyday. It is our livelihood, and it is our lifeblood.”
