Laura Meller is an Ocean Policy Advisor with Greenpeace Nordic and leads Greenpeace’s global Protect the Oceans campaign. During her nine years with Greenpeace, she has focused on securing a UN Ocean Treaty and protecting at least 30% of the oceans by 2030; marine protected areas in Antarctic waters; Arctic politics and protection; as well as climate and energy issues in Finland. Before joining Greenpeace, she completed her PhD degree at the University of Helsinki in the field of ecology and evolutionary biology, studying policy responses to climate change with regards to biodiversity conservation and protected area networks.
